I hope you were able to celebrate New Years with wonderful friends and family…even if it was just a quiet, cozy night with you and your dog 🙂
Our holidays were wonderful as our parents flew out from FL and NJ to TX to visit us. Our kids had over two weeks of Grandparent time.
We did some shopping in Fredericksburg, TX, toured the USS Lexington aircraft carrier (Veterans and those currently serving definitely have my sincerest appreciation), pet sit a super soft cat, kids ran around the beach…and ate lots of yummy food.
We also went to Ikkicon in Austin, TX. I’ve never been to any anime cons and it was surprisingly fun! No, this is not us the picture below 🙂
Did you make any resolutions for New Years?
One of mine…aside from eating healthier and exercising regularly…is to get more organized. My mind is usually filled with numerous things at once so it’s hard to focus long enough to complete a task…or even remember all that I have to do. Plus, I’m a perfectionist…although you probably cannot tell. This year I’m going to start trying to break out of that mindset. Lots of times I think something isn’t good enough so I keep revising it over and over again. All of a sudden weeks, months…and even years… will go by and nothing is accomplished. An example of this is this blog post. I wasn’t sure I was finished with the photo above so I saved it to finish tomorrow. I was about to get up and work on something else but I stopped and realized that if I don’t do this post now…a week may go by before I post again. I sat back down, tweaked it and wrote. I’m making it a goal to try to break myself out of my perfectionist routine so I can progress with all areas in my life (art, cooking healthy, organizing, etc). It’s definitely something I have to remind myself of.
Good luck with your resolutions! I would love to hear about them 🙂
